A scenic LL walk, with all a country road has to offer.... wildlife and atmosphere, hand and hand (leash) with your best buddy.... Miller, Webster or Rooster
The Criteria
Provide the trainers and dogs a different venue for practicing the LL Walk
- Dogs will work at their individual threshold levels
- Level of distraction will be adjusted by the trainer to meet the need of their dog
- Trainers will work with their dogs at the appropriate step in the LL learning process (see 2010 May Trainer Clinic)
- All dogs will maintain a loose leash if moving in a forward direction. (this also applies to doodling)
All the dogs started the hike at their individual level and each progressed. They all moved to areas with higher levels of distractibility (closer to the sides of the road) while keeping a focus on the task at hand ( a LL) By the end they were able to walk side by side while maintaining a balanced threshold.
Rooster, Miller, and Webster, have had a history of reactiveness toward each other. Today that behavior was not evident ...they have arrived at a state of Zen.
"....a state of Zen" ..... Is there anything better? Where can we sign up for a week-long camp?
